Congratulations, Neighbor! Minnesota here! SoDak is a great state and to keep out of trouble how about the colors of the University of South Dakota or the Good Old Red White and Blue. (I am being facetious!!!) How about a Sampler with all different colors. Perhaps you can find blocks that have something to do with your goddaughter and her future husband.......a Memory Quilt, so to speak)! You know that whatever you make will be a treasure for her and her husband. Just make sure you have fun making it. Also, make a book to go with it. I always do that, sort of let the giftee know what the weather was, what the headlines were, what that particular block means to you because you are doing it for them. Explain the feeling of bonding with the quilt and how you felt the exact moment you made that last stitch. It is a wonderful feeling, but you feel like you just gave your baby away!!!!!! Tell about her husband and her goddaughter meeting and the first time you met him. All the things that is what I call Love in a Quilt - others call it provenance. Make sure you have a label to put on it. Best of luck to you. I am just finishing a sampler that I made for my cousin and another one ready to go for my other cousin (brother and sister). We are in our 70's now and hey, just that I am finishing them is an accomplishment here and I love every minute of it. Edie
