SueSew - I like those colors! I think it took me longer to decide on colors than to sew it up - so many choices! I finally decided I was going to stay with cream/brown as my "main" color scheme, and work in other colors that work well with those. And since I'm using all batiks in my Affairs of the Heart blocks, I decided I'd use none of them with this group. That was a hard decision, part of me wanted to use all those bright colors for this too, but since I plan on both groups for wall hangings in my "Machine Shed" I want them to be more different.
One of my problems, I was anxious to get started, and I wanted my "paper" to be exactly the same, so I photocopied the page (after cutting the binding off my book). But I couldn't find any lightweight paper. I did fine sewing one layer of paper, but when I tried it with two layers, it just wouldn't work.
DH picked me up some tracing paper today, so I'll have that for the next block. Unfortunately it's too large for my printer/copier at home (it won't handle anything wider than 8.5" and the tracing paper is 9" wide.) so I'll take it to work with me tomorrow and make copies of several blocks.
