Friend: oh! Those are rare! I saw one on (ebay, antiques roadshow, etc) and they're worth tons!
seller (with dollar signs in his eyes): tons? Like what?
friend: like,... $800!!!!
Seller: well this one's missing a pedal.... I think I'll put it in for 1/4 it's value and see if anyone grabs it....
Yeah, right.
the poor seller probably sees the hits to his ad and thinks the calls are going to roll in anytime now.

thanks Steve! At first glance there was crushing disappointment that I didn't have the cabbage to go get it, then on closer inspection everything looked wrong but I had to ask. It's still pretty though.
. Just not from an authenticity POV.
