I use mine behind the door at the bottom of the stairs to the attic of this old cottage.

I doubt the cook had a door here originally, so she likely roasted in the summer up there and was a bit warm in the winter, as heat rises. I keep the slit under the door blocked for all seasons with batting.

Got to change it out this spring though as it's pretty gross after 6 years of dust, dead flies, debris and other yuck.
