Daylesewblessed- I cut my blocks 2.5 inches. My entire finished project was 20" x 20" not counting the hanging block.
Can't decide if it is a he or she. Probably going with a he. :-) Stuffing the little arms and legs was hard. I used a 1/4 inch dowel and tiny slivers of batting.
Judith 1005 and Pollytink - Made tiny little shoes out of pieces of fabric and slipped them over the raw edges of legs. When I added the shoe laces, I made sure to go through the legs too so the shoes stayed on. I used crochet thread for the laces. The white background is my design wall white batting showing through.I made the two edges of empty block separately and added pellon inside to make them stiffer to hold up the hanging one. Next time, I think I will leave extra length and then I won't have to attach them to main piece.
CoventryUK - your blocks are really nice, too. Glad I am not alone in making this. :-)
I want to make my next one like I made my denim quilt. That is using circles and a square of batting and fabric in the middle and fold down all four sides of circle and zig-zag. I think it will show off the little face better. I couldn't find my googilly eyes so just used felt pieces and glued them on. Also glued in middle of shoe laces so they wouldn't come untied. Thanks everyone for all your nice comments.
