Sometimes a dab of the liquid glue works just as well. I like it for smaller items I don't want to risk distorting with the pull of the glue stick. That said, trying to get a controlled amount was difficult until I found these caps that lay done a very fine line of glue and fit on Elmer's and generic bottles.
