IMHO, it depends on what you "value" most. TheBC cookbook that I used in high school and college is still in use at my mom's house. It was a 5-ring binder. Many of the pages were falling out because of torn (used) holes. I found 2 5-ring binders that fit the pages, so I divided the book into two "volumes" and place the pages in the new binders. In our case the recipes and the memories were more important. By the way, I used those little reinforcements to repair the pages. My mother is handicapped and so does well with the smaller volumes. It worked for us.
