I'm leaving on Thursday evening, Feb 19 and coming home Monday, Feb 23 late late late at night!

So ... quilt stores!

I've been on line and found these ones:

In New Orleans: Mes Amies Quilt Shop and the Quilted Owl.
In Baton Rouge: Amelia's Quilt Shop, Fabric Krazy Quilt Shop, Red Stick Quilt Shop and the Quilt Corner
In Lafayette: The Borne Quilter

I'm planning on renting a car for a day and going to at least 4 or 5 of them. The two in New Orleans are easy peasy, but I'm hoping someone can give me some input on which ones in Baton Rouge I should got to, and is the one in Lafayette worth the drive.

I don't mind driving at all, it's one of my favourite ways to see a place that I am visiting.

Other things I am doing: swamp day and a plantation tour, haunted walk in a cemetary (or two or three), visiting the Aubudon Zoo, walking around the neighbourhoods (French Quarter, Garden Center, etc.), maybe get a spiritual reading - if anyone knows of a great place for this, feel free to let me know! And of course I have to have beignets and chicory coffee!!!

I love nature and seeing the "real" stuff about a place I am visiting, so if any natives have any info they want to pass on, don't hesitate!!!!

Thanks so much!

Congratulations! I am in Baton Rouge and Amelia now lives in Washington State. Her shop is closed. Borne Quilter closed recently. Fabric Krazy has some very limited hours. Check with them first. Red Stick Quilt Shop is on Stumburg Lane. It moved from its original location on Industriplex. It is very nice. I will try and find out all the open ones and PM you with that info. Maybe we can meet up at the Red Stick if you are interested and our schedules work out.
