Now you have one center piece and one dark strip piece ready to put the two together.

I like to use a tack or a stitch to hold the seams together instead of pins. It helps to keep it from moving.
Make sure your seams are matching when you tack or pin. If they are not then you need to fix it til they are matching before you go on to the next step. Accuracy is important in minis.
Also make sure your seams are straight and not pulled to one side. If you need to fix this now is the time. Sew a seam along the first seam to change the angle of it to where it will lay straight and not crooked.

7. Tack or pin your seams together
8. Sew the dark strip onto the center
9. Check to make sure everything is straight
10. Trim to 5/8"
