Hi from Nebraska, we also spend some time in Texas for the winter. So interested that you have a Penney's machine. This is the first time I've heard anyone else have one. I had one for about 40 years, I think it was actually called a Pencrest. Just recently gave it to Goodwill. It was a workhorse though.
I bought it back in the early 90's to sew up my husbands work clothes and play clothes for the kids. It's been a good machine for me.
