I have an Electrolux. It's base holds a dust buster and it has a head with brushes. What is interesting - it does have a thread cutter that works.
There's a button on the base that you hold down with your foot, it makes a terrible racket, but it does cut threads so you can pull them out.

I had a Shark, it died, and it did a far better job on cat litter than this Electrolux. There is no such thing as trackless cat litter.
