Hi Donnai - I had a Shark Prof. iron a few years ago. It was a fine iron, but it only lasted 2 years. It had a nice SS soleplate, made lots of steam and heat and was a good
heavy weight. I think it was about $50 - on sale at the time - but it was not hard to find it on sale. My current iron is a Panasonic, $50 from Allbrands a few years ago. It is 1500 watts, some kind of fancy stick free soleplate (which actually works!) and an automatic shutoff. I purchased it because I needed an iron, it was in my price range, and I have generally had good luck with Panasonic products. Feature wise, it is pretty similar to the Shark - which I liked - but was not happy with it's 2 year lifespan. The Panasonic is now 2.5 years old.
