If you have enough scraps in colour families, I would suggest the crayon one I did. It took about 3 days because it was fun and I wasn't in a hurry but you could piece it in a day easy. The original was a free insert in the October American Patchwork and Quilting. I changed the size of it for a smaller drag-a-long for my GNiece. The crayon strips were cut 2-1/2 X 5-1/2 and the crayon end was 5-1/2 inch square with the side pieces sewn on. I cut 2 inch sashing to go between the crayons. Here is a picture of it when I was deciding on if I wanted borders or not.
That is lovely! Unfortunately I don't have enough color scraps for that one... yet. This one is going in my (scrap) bucket list though!
