I haven't read the whole thread so this may have already been suggested, but it sounds like the bobbin you are using may not have been wound properly. The machine's winding mechanism may be 'off' which makes the thread too tight in places. Hence the "sticking" when you are sewing. Try winding a bobbin for it on another machine that you know winds well, or on a sidewinder if you have one.
