Funny you should bring this up. When I first began seeing DH, I thought they (who ever used it) was cursing the man they married. Silly me. They were being sweet on their Dear Husband. I don't mind them especially since I am learning to text more since I got unlimited texting on my phone contract. Have to keep up with the young ones.
