I sandwiched and started the quilting today. I used my walking foot to stitch around the crayons using black thread. I put a black backing on with little multi coloured bits on it. I will FMQ on the crayons using the same coloured thread as the crayons I think. I am still thinking on if I want to try to get a balanced stitch with the coloured thread on top and black on the back or just put the same colour thread on the spool and bobbin and have the FMQ more visible on the back. I decided not to add a border and will probably use the pencil fabric for binding.
Use what scraps you have and make it your own. The original pattern had a white background and it looks really nice.
