An interesting tid-bit.
Notice how the coil spring it tight wound on my disassembled picture?
Yours and the one belonging to my Singer 28 set have gap in that coil. That is very important - that gap changes the distance between tucker and presser lever (which hooks on the needle). I've got ones with several different coils wraps, and they all fit different machines of that vintage.
