I think we were the last people on the planet to change from double bed mattress to queen
So 3/4 of my quilts were smallish for the queen. I told an old sheet, ripped it into five sections, and stitched a section to the bottom of those too short quilts. Works for me as now they stay in place. I use a larger quilt on top.
Not an answer to your bedspread question, but the idea might help someone with bed quilts that don't fit the bed.
