Default Funny how sometimes things match up

When we first went to Indy to visit Miriam back on August of 2012 we stopped at GW picked up a couple machines, did a lot of chatting and got a bunch of stuff, had some good eats, more visiting, then on the way out of town we all hit the thrift stores.

At the St Vincent DePauls <I think, Miriam got a machine and Elaine and I bought that blond cabinet. It's behind the white one we bought from Miriam in the pic below.

We didn't have a machine for it, but I liked it and so it came home with us.

Well I had to replace the hinges and screws, and the lever to the knee controller bracket, and glue some separating pieces of wood, then it sat in the garage till earlier this year.

Then March of 2013 we won a Singer 328K from GW in Florida. It was a well used machine with some corrosion showing on the top and belt cover. Next time it warms up and I can go outside I'll strip it and repaint those parts.

The machine had a bad belt and no case, but once cleaned and lubed it sewed very nice and we have almost every flat cam Singer made to use in it.

A couple weeks ago Elaine wanted a ZZ machine to sew on upstairs. She tried the 401 but it's aftermarket foot controller is a toggle switch and she doesn't like it. It doesn't seem to have any adjustments so I haven't been able to fix it.

She also wanted to try a machine in a cabinet. So we went out to the garage and brought in the blond cabinet. Put them together and it's like they were made for each other. A perfect match.

The condition of the machine and the cabinet while good mechanically and perfectly functional, are both a bit rough aesthetically.

Since they match so well the 328K and the blond cabinet will stay together as long as we have them.
Strange how things come together sometimes, isn't it?
