My favourite Janome 1/4" foot is actually one I got at Sears back when I sewed on a Kenmore (made by Janome). The guard is silver, and the foot fits tightly onto the holder thingy - no wobbles at all. I'm glad I kept it when I got a new machine. I'm not sure if you can get sewing machine stuff from Sears in the US any more, but it might be worth looking into. My Kenmore feet were also about half the price of the same feet with Janome packaging, so it was quite affordable.
