I piece most of my larger quilts and have never had a problem. Sometimes I do press the seam open, but not on blocks.....and I do it all the time. In fact, I just finished a table runner on my own DMS and I used a pre-done block on the back.....did not press the seams open and it worked without a hitch.....so whether on a DMS or longarm....no problems.....EVER!
