The colours are just right for a little one so I'm sure it will be well used. The fabrics will bring special memories to your co-worker and nice of you to think of her. Isn't it annoying when work and every day chores get in our way of sewing? I used to knit in buses and trains to and from work and even in cinemas when I was young - just couldn't keep my hands and brain still! Time is too precious to waste.
I totally get that! The hands & brain are always doing something! While my DH and I may sit in front of the television every night, I'm rarely looking at it! I'm usually doing some sort of handwork or drawing/doodling.
