I found some fabric! I'd bought several "Moda Scrap Bags" last year, and found enough nearly-identical browns to use as my "dark constant". Yay!
If you look closely, the fabrics vary slightly, but from a distance, they're all the same shade of brown. Hopefully they'll work okay.
