I finished a quilt top for February's challenge of the X block using a variation on the inspiration fabric. I chose my fabric based on "jewel tones with neutrals" and wanted something youthful for a baby quilt to suit my purpose. I used the floral for the jewel tones, and made the sashing neutral.
It's all from my scrap bin.
This one, as is, measures about 25x25. I haven't chosen a binding yet. Any suggestions? I wish I had enough of the navy fabric left, but I only have about 9" square!
I've named this quilt "Blue X Wins". It'll be going to a NICU in California.

I had one main color deviation from the challenge fabric, which was yellow. It just worked with my fabric well, and also for the recipient. (An interesting research study I did 20 years ago found that children with respiratory ailments gravitated to yellow. So for a preemie with underdeveloped lungs, I wanted yellow in this quilt.)
