I saw these demonstrated at Road 2CA and decided that they were not for me. The demo was really fast and very intense, but you could see that the thickness of the straps forces a rocking motion on the ruler. More possibilities for moving that i cared to deal with. I use clear plastic sheets (static cling like the magic tape for thread) for my 'non-skid'. It works great.
