I made one of these, too, also inspired by Tartan. I realized when arranging the crayons that if alternated, the seams of the pieces making up the crayons that don't match up -- as in lined up -- are not so obvious. Also, it's the way children often put their crayons back in the box. I'm pretty OCD but the alternating crayons worked for me!
I like your quilt! Love the colors and the fabrics you used. And you got your crayon points a little sharper than mine, which I like a lot. Can't wait to see your backing.
Yes, I saw your quilt before I started mine, so I should have said you inspired me too. I love your quilt, and I hope I like mine when I am done. I had several false starts with the points on these crayons, but I think I finally got them okay. I had a lot of help from my son, who has a good eye for stuff like that.
