melmerr1, your dog may not have had a stroke. there is a disease called "old dog vestibular disease". It's a balance
problem and more common in older dogs but can happen to younger dogs, too. one of my dogs had it and that's why i researched it. her head leaned to one side and she walked with a stagger. the good news is it goes away by itself and causes no permanent damage. you can google it to get more information.
