Help!! Should I upgrade to8900-my 7700 having a bad hair day
Hi everyione,
I am really sorry I havnt been on in a while. I had Lyme disease in 98, thought it was mainlygone but am on more meds since last year..anyway I was wondering if any of you have had similar problems. My lovely Janome Horizon 7700 is 3 and a half, she was serviced last year. The needle jammed on me at Christmas time and she went back to the dealer again and he did a complete overhaul, and another service just incase anything else was amiss he replaced the bobbin case and tried to sort out the problem with the fabric sewing through the dogs at nearly a fortyfive degree angle so she wasnt pushing the fabric through straight.Up till then she has been incredibly reliable.
Back she came again and now I am finding the top tension is rubbish. If I can explain-lovely stitches on the reverse but on the top at Auto just a solid line with little nubs from the bobbin thread. I figured this was the tension on top being incorrect. I have fiddled with the tension and can just about get something that looks like a line of stitches on the top using tension 1 and a bit. But tis not like she was.
I know this isnt right and am just wondering if you think this is going to be more problems. I was looking at the Janome 8900, and the dealer told me i could take it home and try it overnight (he's lovely!) but wondered what peoples thoughts were on this model. The only other alternative is quite limiting, dealer has Pfaff and Husqvarna but the Brother VQ2 is with another dealer further away. I have been with this dealer for 4 years and he has always been very honest and good to deal with.
Thanks guys, if anyone can help me decide it would be great!!
