Default Painting controllers to match

Most of my vintage machines have the old Mercury brand metal foot controllers. And very few of the controllers actually color match the machines.

Most of the time I don't care, but for a couple of the machines I'd like to paint the controllers to match.
Here's an example of one I want to make match:

The blue controller has been with this machine as long as I can remember, I've fixed it so it works really great so I don't want to replace it.

What I'm curious about is what paint would I use that would be durable and long lasting.
Sanding isn't a problem, and unless the original paint is in bad shape it can be used as a primer. But, Krylon, Rustoleum, ????????????

Any idears from those who paint stuff?
