I didn't take a good look at your examples, but I almost always choose the dark color for the final binding and let the other fabrics be in the border. It kind of depends upon what you want to bring attention to in the finished quilt....I also try to see (when auditioning fab.) a good balance of color. (I am a retired int. decorator) and find that I look at my quilts in the same way I looked at color, fabrics, ets, when working...One thing I try to remember, if it applies, is to have the visual weight ona the left and bottom.
