Default My beginner whole-cloth endeavors...

I belong to a group of long-armers (SC Girls with Long Arms) and we meet every other month. Last November (our last meeting of 2014), we were given our "2015 Challenge Quilt" requirements. A wholecloth quilt, 40" square, on solid fabric (not batik, and not tone-on-tone). We could use any color of fabric, as long as it is solid. Thread can be matching or contrasting.
So, I'm going to try to load the pics of my first two ever-in-my-whole-life attempts. The one with the contrasting red/brown thread is my first attempt. The one where the thread matches is my second. This "Challenge" is teaching me quite a lot - both about myself and my machine.
Enjoy!!
