I never use it because it's the first thing that gets out of alinement. The self threader is one of the features the sales people stress but they were surprised when I told them that as soon as you get the hang of using it it gets out of alinement. I'm not paying a maintenance check up fee to have it set right. I'm lucky that I sew without my glasses and have very little trouble threading my sewing machine. May in Jersey
