I agree with those who boils their eggs and moves it aside to 'sit' awhile before peeling. My DGM always put salt or/and soda in with her eggs...she boiled for 15 minutes after they begin to boil and aways had that dark ring around the yoke of the egg. I do use the salt or soda in with the eggs, let them boil for eight to ten minutes and peel them. Does not matter how 'old' the egg is...store bought (how long in shipping them to the store??) or country eggs direct if you let them sit in the hot water after bringing them to a boil. Ice bath helps, and rolling them across the counter or 'cracking' the egg on the top of the sink will make them easy to peel.
