Welcome from the gulf! Quilts so have to be a fancy dance. They can be big square patches. They can be machine, hand or tied. They don't have to have a fancy quilted pattern, they can be in the ditch or cross hatch or as one of the members and I have done is line, no swirls and curls. Try it on a pillow size square.
