I agree with checking for a used machine at a licensed dealer. You should still get a warranty, I did, plus a free service at the end of the year's warranty. A dealer knows his trade ins because he probably sold and serviced most of the machines, especially if the dealer has been in business for a long time. I bought both my Pfaffs used and couldn't be happier. A good sales associate will listen to what your needs are and help you get the machine you need, not all machines at a dealer are expensive.
