calicoes would look sweet in a baby item! -- calicoes erupted in the mid-late 60's and were still available as calicoes in the early 70's, fewer and less in popularity in the 80's, and the 90's not so much. There is a multitude of fabric on ebay, etc, that is referred to as calico but IS NOT. As far as i know, calico refers to fabric that has minute flower/flower heads and vines/leaves that are ~~.25 of an inch or less apart and allows VERY little space between the motifs. it looks very crowded, this is how they are recognized. Although, today, who knows, the definition may have changed.
