Once bit, twice shy!
I learned on one of first home leaves from Austria to check the contents of everything (not just quilt kits) as soon as I got back to where we were staying while in the USA.
My lesson? When we got home to Austria ~yes, wouldn't you know!~ the pattern in a quilt kit was missing. In that instance, the big fancy decorated label included the yardage of each fabric and listed the pattern as included. It was several weeks before I had the chance to look through all my loot when we got home: since this was before email existed, I had to make a long distance phone call.
And, you guessed it, the shop was out of the pattern which was designed by a local woman who also created the kits on consignment. That was that!
Hmmmm ..... that reminds me I still have that kit somewhere .......
