Every kit I have purchased contains the pattern. I don't think it is a "kit" without the pattern! I have had the patterns not be the same as the picture on the front of the kit package though - and of course I got the kit while I was driving through Texas and by the time I figured out the patterns for half of the stars pictured on the front of the kit were not there, I was no longer in Texas. Needless to say, that quilt had never been finished and I will never shop at that quilt shop again since when I called to ask about it, they didn't care and had no suggestions to correct the problem...just an attitude of "yeah, so what?". I don't buy kits any more now, unless it is from my LQS where I can go physically and talk to the owner if there is a problem and I know she will make it right.
