Default No More SID for me!

I make baby quilts. I definitely can't afford to have them longarmed by someone else. I have tried free motion quilting off and on for years, and I just can't get the hang of it. So, I have always used SID. I have never been really happy with it, but it was the best I could do.
Until now! I saw a book on the internet called Edge-to-Edge Quilting on Your Embroidery Machine by Amelie Scott Desgns. I have seen this type of thing before but was never really happy with the results. Not so in this case. Not only am I happy with the results, I absolutely love them and the process. The book comes with a CD that has 10 quilting designs on it. I used the plain meander on the last 3 quilts I made and the results were fantastic for someone like me who has never had the capability to do something like this.
I am attaching some pictures. It's hard to get the quilting to show but I hope you can see it well enough to get the idea.
It didn't take as long or any longer than if I was stitching in the ditch, and I love how it turns out. Stitching in the ditch always made me nervous because I was always trying to stay "in the ditch". Now I just push the button on my embroidery machine and watch it go. So much more relaxing, and did I say"I love the results"? I just ordered the first expansion pack of designs so I can try them all out.
