There is so much to see and do in Ontario!! October is about my favourite time of the year- the trees are in full colour and the summer heat is gone. I live about 1 1/2 hours from Niagara, in the Waterloo/ Kitchener area. October is time for Oktoberfest if that is something you like. Niagara, Niagara on the Lake, and the wineries and tours, is wonderful. Kitchener is home to a huge Amish/ Mennonite community, so there are many restaurants to recommend and some quilt shops too. Newfoundland, by the way, is a very long way from Niagara, but the dogs are adorable. You could check online for Tourism Ontario for ideas. Toronto is still home to me, we moved from Toronto 18 months ago to this small town. It is an enormous, international and multi-ethnic city with a major traffic congestion problem. There are word class restaurants and great theater opportunities. If you are so close, you must spend a few days there- check out the CN tower and dine at the top. Stay in a hotel downtown, use the subway system and take in all you can from this wonderful city. Can you tell that I love Toronto? My husband commutes to downtown every day. If you are looking for specific places, feel free to send me a PM and I can tell you some of my favourite places. Have a wonderful trip.
