I retired my sewing basket when I stopped mending clothes and started making quilts. Now most of my small sewing things are kept in Whitman Sampler tins. Buttons, machine needles, hand needles, perle cotton, laces, beads, fancy threads, rotary cutter blades, marking pencils, and other 'smalls' all live in their own tin in one of the 'legs' of my work table. A second leg is in process. The fun part is getting rid of the chocolate whenever Whitman comes out with a new Sampler tin.
