If you wanted an additional graphic feel a single randomly pieced border of the 4 star colors, using tone on tone blenders or batiks for example: if you want a 4 inch finished border, take a 4 1/2 inch wide red strip that is 10 inches long, then a 4 1/2 inch wide purple strip that is 6 inches long, sew the 2 together, now you have a longer border strip. Keep going until you have 4 borders. A braided border of the star colors would also look good.
