No, I haven't taken leave of my senses! This odd-looking piece was made using orphan blocks and practice pieces and quilt-as-you-go as part of Leah Day's Quilt Along. It worked pretty well, so a properly-planned one could be a good way of using up left over blocks. Leah's tutorial is at
