Is it the "Poultry In Motion" one? debcavan posted her Tiffany Stained Glass on this board. I think it is in the tutorials. That is probably the same idea that nanacc was thinking of, but Deb C. said she used Red Heart 2 ply because it was what was available in her home town. I would preshrink and guard against dye running by washing the yarn in a measuring cup in the microwave until the water is clear.

I looked again at that chicken art and wonder if all those pieces are cut and arranged on a black felt backing, leaving small gaps to make it look like it's edged in black. I play around with felt sometimes and buy whatever JoAnn's has, doesn't have to be wool. I prewash all of it. Just don't leave it in the washer too long or wrinkles can be hard to get out. Right now, I'm helping someone put a black felt heart on a white sweatshirt as part of a costume. I think the felt is a synthetic, so cover it to press.
