I think your template idea is great. You would need 2 sizes for each square, one for the pie and one for the tart, but I think it's a great idea. I'm sure there has to be DP templates out there that this would be perfect for. Let us know what you come up with. Thinking I might give it a try your way, at least on a small quilt. Thanks :-)
