I think I would begin with a slightly damp pressing cloth, no steam, on the wrong side. Bear in mind that any moisture on cotton tends to alter the original or found condition. If it has any signs of discoloration, fade or stress , it may not be advisable to do the above. Try it on a little corner first. Good luck. Cotton fabric has been known to last hundreds of years under the right conditions, so 25 yrs should be alright. I have quilted 100 tr old quilt tops and sewn blocks into tops and had no problem with pressing out creases. I do know not to hang in the sun as the old fabric will fade in just a few hours in the Twxas sun. When I sold antiques in Canton Texas I hung one under my canopy and one side faded Oh, my!
