Can you work on your husband a bit more? You're not likely to find another treadle in that good of shape for that money again any time soon.
$30 is the same as $25 for that machine-a no brainer.
The base and head are in great shape at any price. They're in great cosmetic condition and finding another shuttle takes some effort but it would be well worth it. Can you get it just so it doesn't end up "upcycled" into a tractor?
