I think I made it a little tooooo big.!! It's on my queen bed. He is a tall guy 6'3", so. Some of you that exchanged blocks with me might see one of yours.
Some of the blocks have special meaning...
2nd row airplane I made years ago... next to plane is the Tennessee block (where he was born)
3rd row - Chinese jar (where he has lived for past 4 yrs, coming back to Texas end of May!!!!)
4th row - star block using some of his Paw Paw's shirts (he was only 5 when Paw Paw passed & think he stills remembers him)
Hand - his hand when he was little boy (I got all 7 DGKs to trace their hands & cut out of foam & used them as a border in their playroom)
Pic of backing - plaid on left bottom is made from a shirt of his Paw Paw's & Coca Cola block is from 1 of my Dad's shirts (he worked for Coca Cola for 35 yrs & DGS probably remembers him..
The embroidered block in center was made yrs ago by my Mom (Grandma to her. she just turned 91. She's in a NH & it is soooo sad, she doesn't remember anyone except me now & her embrodiery stitches are'nt what they used to be).
All DGKs quilts will have similar blocks on them. I'm now working on #1 DGD's graduation quilt for this year. Next yr will be #2 DGS, 2017 is #2 DGD & 3 more DGDs later. Just pray God gives me the mind & health to complete!!!
