I would love to see pictures. I hope your issue is fixed soon. At $11.00 before shipping it's a pretty certain guess that you didn't go wrong getting it. White Rotaries are nice, well designed machines. If you don't already know, they turn backwards compared to Singers. You might be able to find a manual at Singerco.com. Put a W in front of your model number if it has one. Chances are the case can be repaired with nothing more than some wood glue and a clamp. Pictures of the damage would help there too.

EDIT: The picture problem: The max size photo is 640x480 IIRC. Is it possible you're trying to upload too large of a photo?
