I have the janome memory craft 8000 for 25 years now. I have used it like a work horse. I have never taken it in for service. I keep it clean and only oil the bobbin case or the thingy the bobbin sits in. The lighted screen has gone a bit dull but I can still see the stitches. I don't really do machine embroidery and use the blanket stitch on it or a couple others. It is one of the best machine I own. I do use my brother quilt club now for speed etc. (I have 2 of those) ...I have sold my old bernina and an old singer and getting ready to sell my featherweight. I want to be down to just 3 machines.
